MEADOWMONT, CHAPEL HILL, NC
Meadowmont is the Triangle's premier mixed use residential community developed by East West Partners in 1998. The 435-acre community includes 1,300 single and multi family homes, a vibrant Village Center, Wellness Center, YMCA Swim Club, elementary school, soccer field, retirement community, child care center, town park, The Chapel Hill Greenway and interconnected bike and walking trails throughout, linked to Chapel Hill's greenway and pedestrian system.
With an active Homeowners Association and Retail Association, Meadowmont periodically hosts community events including music, movies, foot and bike races as well as other fun family-friendly events throughout the year.
Meadowmont is located on what was originally a 1,250 acre estate owned by David and Valinda Hill DuBose. "The DuBose House", as it is known today, is the original family home, built in 1933 and named "Meadowmont" for the meadows that surrounded the hilltop it sat upon. The house, still in its original location near the end of DuBose Home Lane, is a 20,000 square foot gorgeous example of a Georgian Revival home of the interwar period and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
